OUR MISSION
To provide the tools for a more sustainable forest management
Yucatrote was founded in 2021 with the scope of helping private and public institutions, and governments to better manage their environmental sector, with a special focus on forest management, carbon sequestration and climate change impacts.
At Yucatrote, we use model calibration to process and simulate small to large-scale data to assess and monitor forest growth, carbon sequestration, and the environmental and economic impact, providing a useful tool for forest management at a large scale.
We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and data-driven solutions for sustainable forest management. By leveraging advanced technologies and analytics, we empower forest owners and managers to make informed decisions, optimize resource allocation, and preserve the ecological integrity of forests.
Meet the founder
Dr. Francesco Minunno is the founder of Yucatrote. He graduated at the University of Bari in 2007 in Forest and Environmental Sciences; he holds a Master in research from the University of Edinburgh (2009); in 2013 he obtained a doctoral degree in Forest modelling at the University of Lisbon. Since 2014, he has been a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Forest Sciences of the University of Helsinki.
His work has focused on the application of advanced computational techniques to process-based forest growth models and forest model applications on large-scale simulations. His expertise is in Bayesian analysis, model data fusion, and data assimilation applied to forest models.
